A swift fox is small and slender fox about the size of a large house cat, grey in colour and has light orange-tan markings, they have a body length between 38 and 53 centimeters (15-21 inches), their tail length is between 18 and 26 centimeters, they weigh between 1.5 and 3 kilograms (3.25-6.5 lbs), and have a life expectancy of approximately 3-6 years. Swift Foxes can be located on the short grass prairies and deserts of Canada and central USA. After a gestation period of about 50-60 days, Swift Foxes give birth to 2-6 young fixes in a den. The mother no longer feeds them after 6-7 weeks and they become independent at 6 months after birth. Swift Foxes reach sexual maturity between 1 and 2 years of age.
